Failed Video Idea - Visuals

We had tried out an idea for our video to try to create a cool visual shot of Kalum playing the guitar however as you can tell from the video it did not look as good as we had thought it would turn out and actually just distracted viewers from him playing the guitar while the screen looked too busy therefore we didn't go through with the idea. 

Props And How To Make Them

For the scenes we needed to shoot we needed to make it look like our singer (Molly) was drinking. We chose to have her drink wine because, stereotypically, a woman like her wouldn't be drinking beer out of a can.

Problems We Faced While Filming (Day 1)

Filming Day

Throughout our day filming we used multiple angles for the car scene with different camera set ups.

This was the set we used for the car scene

This was the first set up we used to capture Molly's lip singing. 

This was the second camera shot we used, however the sun's glare on the windshield made it hard to get her face in the shot.

 

This was the third angle we chose to shoot from, behind her and with several empty wine bottles.

Good Vs. Bad Lip Syncing

Good Vs. Bad Lip Syncing

We decided to show a good version of lip syncing against a bad version to show the importance of lip syncing.

From the videos you can see in the bad one, there is no energy the feel of the video is awkward and it doesn't convince the audience the person is truly singing the song. Whereas in the good version it is high energy with lots of movement, the lip syncing is convincing and it lifts the audience's mood and view on the video. When people put little effort in it doesn't portray the video as well as it does when it is high energy.
